Original caption from War History DA file print reads: "During the advance of the 8th Army towards Tripoli a large part of the NZ Engineers efforts was directed towards the clearing of mines from the route. After extracting this Teller mine, the [unidentified] engineer digs deeper for a possible second mine, a common trick of the enemy." Photograph taken in Tripoli, Libya, on the 22nd of January, 1943.
