This image is a copy negative from the publication "The coast" : the golden west : the land of minerals and scenic beauties, its history and development. West Coast jubilee 1864-1914", a photocopy of which is held by the Alexander Turnbull Library at P Box q993.1 COA 1914. The Greymouth-Hokitika line was opened in 1893 and further extended to Ross in 1909
