Shows Bishop George Selwyn intercepting a soldier who is trying to shoot a Maori with his rifle. Selwyn deflects the gun with a stick marked "Home influence". The Maori is standing behind Selwyn's back, thumbing his nose at the soldier. The Library does not hold the Taranaki Punch, from which this clipping was taken. A copy is held by Puke Ariki, New Plymouth Extended Title - From a clipping stuck into the back of "The Penny journal" 1866-1867. Taken from Taranaki Punch, 21 November 1860, p
