Looking south, with Lowry Bay in the foreground, the entrance to Wellington Harbour in the left distance, Miramar Peninsula in the middle distance, with Somes Island also visible. According to the associated text in Pictorial illustrations of New Zealand 'The view is taken from the north-east corner of the harbour, near Mr Jackson's house...'
