Description

Bank or company's promissory note with ornate border incorporating John Jones' name and places where the company did business. At the top centre is a hanging sheep, flanked by two allegorical seated female figures, one with ears of grain and a cornucopia and one with a spindle and beehive. Accompanying letter explains that the note was issued by the donor's great-grandfather.
