Carte de visite portrait of a Maori woman wearing a korowai (tag cloak), taken on the 1870s by Samuel Carnell of Napier. The korowai appearts in other portraits by Carnell, and was probably owned by the studio. A contemporary inscription on PA2-2936 (a print from the same negative) states that this woman used to boast of having eaten the missionary's eye after being killed by Kereopa.
