Description

The steamship `Navua', berthed in Wellington during her role as a World War I troopship. Photograph taken by John Dickie. The "Navua" was built in 1904 by D J Dunlop & Co, Port Glasgow, and weighed 2930 Tons. She held 220 first class passengers and 136 second class passengers. She was operated by the Union Steam Ship Company between 1904 and 1926 and was used as a troop ship during World War I. In 1926/7 she was sold to Khedivial Mail Steamship & Graving Dock Co Ltd, London and renamed "Roda"
