Shows Sir George Grey, seated, Te Rangihaeata with outstretched arm, groups of Maori, house on hill on right, middle distance According to an account in the New Zealand Spectator and Cook's Strait Guardian of September 1851, this event took place on 13 September 1851, but was at Otaki, not Waikanae.
