Shows parishioners approaching the church building in centre, along a path leading from the right foreground. The house of Colonel Wakefield is at the right with a tall flagpole with flag flying, beside it. Commentary states that the harbour is to the right, but this is not visible. Brees' text in "Pictorial Illustrations" reads: Dr Selwyn, the Bishop of New Zealand, landed at Wellington on the 12th of August. 1842, and introduced the Rev.
