A profile view of Colonel William Hayward Wakefield, dressed in a frock-coat and holding a top hat in his right hand, as he appeared at his trial in 1826 for assisting his brother Edward Gibbon Wakefield in the abduction of a young heiress, Miss Ellen Turner.
