Steam locomotive "Ub" 280, built by Baldwin in 1898. Photograph taken by Albert Percy Godber. This image is a film negative taken by Albert Percy Godber from a print in one of his albums. Inscriptions: Photographer's title on negative - bottom centre - Loco Class Ub "Ub" 280 was built by Baldwin (maker's no. 16044/98), went into service in December 1898, and was written off in September 1936. See "Register of New Zealand Railways locomotives, 1863-1971" by W G Lloyd (1974)
