Presents data obtained by Botany students of Victoria and Auckland Universities in the course of their practical field work in Ecology during May, 1965 and 1963. Illustrates, through the scheme of work, the Importance Value Index technique of Curtis and Macintosh (1951), and the study of the vegetation above the timber-line on the Bruce Road, Mount Ruapehu.
