Lieutenant-Commander Frank Worsley (standing) and Lieutenant Joseph Russell Stenhouse, photographed ca 1917 by an unknown photographer. Joseph Stenhouse was chief officer of the Aurora, Shackleton's second ship with the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition. Worsley and Stenhouse returned to Britain in April 1917 and reported for duty with the Royal Navy (both were Royal Navy Reserve officers).
