Inscriptions: Marginal notes on negative - top right - Pakeha Steamship Pakeha of 8115 tons, was built by Harland & Wolff of Belfast, for Shaw, Savill & Albion Co. Transport duties during 1914-1918 war, for the East African Campaign. Laid up in 1939, and acquired by the Admiralty for conversion into dummy Royal Sovereign Class battleship.
