Show a pākehā male, thought to be Joel Samuel Polack, facing three Māori men, one gesturing with two large woven kete of potatoes at his feet, another with potatoes on his back, and the third holding a tethered pig. In the background is a curved bay, probably Kororāreka (Russell) with kāinga (village) visible and a waka pulled up on the shore.
