Description

Maori prisoners in the Rutland Stockade, Queen's Park, Wanganui, in 1867. They are guarded by soldiers of the 18th and 57th Imperial Regiments (with numbers on hats) and members of the Colonial Defence Force (with swords slung, see right of centre).
