Three Maori pupils of Wellington Girls College with the petition they have presented to their Principal, Mrs C E Barnett. The petition calls for a Maori language course at the College. They are: Cherene Neilson (left), Morgan, Claire (centre), and Tessa Hunia. The petition was signed by approximately 500 students and teachers, who were supported by their families and the Maori Women's Welfare League.
