A double hulled canoe with patched sails carries women to New Zealand. They are very keen to reach 'The land of the long low tweet-towoooo'. The leader takes an heroic stance as she points to the land and shouts 'Look girls! - MEN!!!' Several of the others are reading love stories. At bottom right are the words in brackets '(After C.F. Goldie's famous painting)'. Context - More than 125,000 migrants settled here during the 50s, the vast majority of them British and many of them single women
