Description

The shark necropsy took place at Auckland Museum on 8 January 2009. The event, organised to raise awareness of the threats facing the Great White species, was watched by a crowd of close to 4000 people, both from grandstands and on screens inside the Museum. The operation examined the sharks stomach contents, took measurements of internal organs, as well as investigating the gills and removing the jaws.
