Description

Photograph taken by Whites Aviation. Also know as Reid's carving. The waharoa (gateway) was carved in 1927 and 1928 and following Tene Waitere's death in 1931 was left to his niece Ruihi (Lucy) Rongoheikume Reid. Following Reid's death in 1960 her husband George Reid gifted the waharoa to the people of the Taupō District.
