Description

Describes the functions of the Māori Land Court, based on the two principles of the retention of Māori land and the utilisation of Māori land. Looks at the Māori community and land holdings in Te Taitokerau, over which he presides, and discusses the role of the owners, the Māori Land Court and the Regional and District Councils in ensuring Māori land is properly used.
