Description

This is a British First World War recruiting poster. Until conscription was introduced in May 1916, the United Kingdom was the only major power in Europe to rely on voluntary enlistment. To encourage men to enlist and to ensure enough recruits, the British government ran an extensive poster campaign between October 1914 and September 1915.
