An illustration drawn by S. Begg of the London News showing King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra opening parliament on February 14, 1901. On the right of their Majesties' stand the Marquis of Winchester is holding the cup of Maintenace; the Lord Chancellor, and the Duke of Devonshire, bearing the Imperial Crown. On the left oh the Thrones is the Marquis of Londonderry, holding the sheathed sword of State; and next to him is Lord Cholmondely, Lord Great Chamberlain.
