Showing the whaleboat Tainui, under the command of Mr J McIntosh (seated in the bow) which put out to sea from Hohoura and intercepted the S S Zealandia on her voyage to Sydney to pick up survivors from the wreck of the S S Elingamite, wrecked on the rocks at Three Kings Islands, 9 November 1902.
