Copy of a photograph looking north east from Mount Victoria across Devonport and Cheltenham Beach towards Rangitoto, showing Albert Road (centre), the Church Street and Vauxhall Road intersection (background), to the left is the swamp which was later drained to make Alison Park and the house in the foreground was occupied for many years by James Armstrong, headmaster of Devonport School. The house on Vauxhall Road (top right) now demolished.
