Description

Showing the McLean Institute (currently known as McLean's Mansion) in Manchester Street, Christchurch. This house, originally known as Holly Lea, was designed by architect R W England in 1899 for Allan McLean who stipulated in his will that it become a home for women of refinement and education in reduced or straitened circumstances.
