- Description
A block of public toilets with a Communist Party poster on the back door, advertising a public meeting at the Town hall on 15 June 1948, with Claude Jones, state president of the Queensland Communist Party. These are the men's underground toilets in Beresford Street at the Pitt Street intersection. The building with the tower (centre) is the 1912 Fire Station, the building to the right is the Wembley Building, which from 1926 which was occupied by the Auckland Gas Company.
