Description

Looking east from the vicinity of Emily Place showing Jermyn Street (later Anzac Avenue) closed to traffic, and the gardens of Admiralty House, with reclamations from Point Britomart to Campbells Point visible in the distance. In 1914 Auckland City Council began work on a new eastern outlet road from the waterfront, following the route of Jermyn Street, linking Beach Road with Symonds Street.
