Observes the effect of predator control, particularly that of stoats (Mustela erminea) and possums (Trichosurus vulpecula), on numbers of female kaka (Nestor meridionalis) surviving to sexual maturity, predation, and nesting success of kaka on the main islands of New Zealand, comparing data at nesting sites with predator control versus that at unmanaged sites.
