Looking east towards the Hunua Ranges, showing the Drury Hotel. This view of the Drury Hotel on the Great South Road was taken by Auckland photographer Bruno Lancel Hamel in March 1859. Hamel, born into a French émigré family in England in 1837, had arrived in Auckland in January 1858 and set up a photographic studio in Edward Street.
