Description

In the foreground the airman looks down on the central business area of the city, the waterfront and wharves, with a corner of Albert Park on the right. Across the Waitematā Harbour, studded here and there with the white sails of yachts in Saturday afternoon contests, is the suburb of Devonport. The view stretches into the distance to include Rangitoto, famous island guardian of the harbour entrance.
