Description

Analyses the legislative provisions and common law principles governing employment status at the time the Employment Relations (Film Production Work) Amendment Bill (the 'Hobbit amendment') was enacted in Oct 2010, as confirmed in the leading case Bryson v Three Foot Six Ltd [2005] NZSC 34. Considers the statutory interpretation of the amendment as enacted, concluding that the current wording does not provided the clarity and certainty its promoters intended.
