Contributes English translations from the original German of German-Jewish poet Karl Wolfskehl's (1869-1948) 'Albatros' ('Albatross') and 'Heilig und heidnisch' ('Sacred and profane'), both written during his exile in Auckland after fleeing Nazi Europe in 1933. Gives a brief background to the poet's life and works. Explains his approach to the translation.
