Main part of the diary covers the period 1915-1919 with intermittent brief entries after this date. Mildred left with a group of 79 nurses from Wellington, 11 July 1915 bound for Egypt where she served in a hospital in Cairo. In early June 1916 she left Egypt for England where she was stationed at Brockenhurst Hospital.
