A view of Captain Cook at the water's edge at Kealakekua Bay, Hawaii, probably based on Cleveley's 1788 work 'View of Owhyhee, one of the Sandwich Islands in the South Seas'. Shows Cook as a peace-maker, while fighting goes on around him, and he is oblivious to two men behind him, one wielding a club and the other a dagger.
