In January 1995 Tony came fifth in Standard class in the world championships, held in Omarama. he had competed in world championships in 1989 and 1991, but in 1993 was focused on buying a new German glider; it cost $120 000 and was equipped with GPS, which was used in the world Championships in 1995.
