Description

MP Ron Bailey speaking at the ceremony handing over the new ambulance after a series of appeals earlier in 1962. Left to right, the Rt Hon Walter Nash, Sir Charles Norwood, Upper Hutt Mayor Percy Kinsman. Sir Charles Norwood, as mayor of Wellington 1925-1927, founded the Wellington Free Ambulance; C. B Norwood were Nuffield distributors, hence the tractor posters; picture taken at 7 p.m. ceremony, Gethings Motors.
