Description

Caption: The King of Moonshine, Graham Stokes, gives "royal" approval to BP Silverstream's new public cardphone. Presumably, telephones operated by plastic cards were introduced in 1990. Printed on 4th September 1990, after Mathew Davey bought the business he had been managing for two years. First opened as BP Silverstream on November 4 , 1978. Graham died on July 23, 1992; there were about 800 people at the Civic Centre funeral, which was described in the August 3 'Leader'.
