- Description
Caption: After 22 years Brian Cooper is retiring from Twigland. In 1969 he bought the Trentham site and built the garden centre, which opened on April 8, 1970. Over the years Brian has witnessed many changes, not least of all to the garden centre itself. Three houses were pulled down to accommodate the expanding centre. The March 4 1970 'Leader' showed an artist's aerial view, and announced that Twigland would open in April. Brian was named as its manager
