Description

Orleen Stephens received a Queen's Service Medal in the 1996 New Year's Honours. Her work for the Upper Hutt community dates back to 1979, five years after she immigrated to New Zealand. She had started Upper Hutt's 'Room at the Inn' Christmas meals in 1983, after two years at the Citizens' Advice Bureau, and began a Trade Aid shop in 1989.
