Caption: Westpac Clubman of the Year John Montgomery from the Whakatiki Bowling Club has volunteered thousands of hours to ensure the club's greens are kept in top shape. Printed in colour in the ‘Leader’ on May 29, 1996. This brightened image has also had contrast reduced. The award may have been limited to green supervisors; ten had been nominated, from around 30 Wellington-area clubs.
