The Upper Valley Gliding Club airstrip set the scene for the filming of a Coca-Cola commercial for Japanese television in January 1992. Producer Kevin McGrath said his Sydney-based company "Size Inc" chose the Kaitoke airstrip because it was the prettiest they could find.
