The 13 January 1999 Leader looked at the attractions of Upper Hutt, focusing on what could be found north of the city. The very northern tip of the Upper Hutt boundary, at the top of the Remutaka Range, was marked by Pie in the Sky, offering food, drinks and great views. Run by husband-and-wife team Charlie and Robyn Parker (pictured) Pie in the Sky had been through several guises and owners over the years, but was pushing on to become a tourist attraction as well as tearooms.
