It was the end of an era at Maidstone Ford's Fergusson Drive premises in January 1998, as after around 40 years as the city's Ford dealership the building was vacated. Maidstone Ford was moving to 8-10 King Street, to a former car sales yard that had itself relocated nearby. Maidstone Ford began as Tom Croft Motors, later becoming Brian Tonks Motors. The November 30, 1982 'Leader' said Brian Tonks and Ivor Davies had bought Tom Croft Motors on October 1, and that a name change was likely. New...
