Caption: An international youth scholarship is being set up in the memory of Kimiko Watanabe, a Japanese teacher who spent nine months on exchange at Pinehaven School in 1994/95. Mrs Watanabe lost a battle with cancer in July last year, and her husband Makoto is starting the scholarship because of the love for New Zealand his late wife developed while in Upper Hutt.
