Description

The Leader reported that up and coming local soccer player Johnny Foundoulakis (pictured) was hoping for a professional soccer career in Australia. He left in August 1998 for a three-week trial with Australian soccer club Sydney United and would be playing for his place in the team for the upcoming NSL season. He was determined to take his chance. Printed in greyscale in the ‘Leader’ on September 2, 1998. The family ran fish-and-chip shops; in Clouston Park Road, and later, Brown Owl.
