Description

Dunlop celebrated fifty years of service to New Zealand 1898-1948, with exhibitions in the four main centres; this venue was the Wellington Sports Centre. Until 1946, sports gear had been handled by van Staveren Brothers, who also allowed Dunlop's tyre operations to operate from their building from 1937; some of this gear was produced in a Woolston plant which Barnet Glass had started in 1940; it was taken over by Dunolp in 1946.
