Description

This work "clearly illustrates Lusk’s assured drawing skills. The boat, bathed in sunlight and almost filling the whole picture, is nestled onshore in a wooden cradle-like structure. The series of flowing shapes - created by the interplay of cradle, ropes and cast shadows - forms a rich interwoven pattern. To the right of the boat, in the background, a small dinghy appears, adding a sense of scale to the central subject." Grant Banbury May 2009
