Moana-Nui-a-Kiwa Ngarimu (7 April 1918 – 27 March 1943) was the only member of the M?ori Battalion to be awarded the Victoria Cross. The award was made posthumously at a hui in Ruatoria that was documented by photographer John Dobree Pascoe and the National Film Unit.
