Description

Wagyu cattle were bred in Japan to produce very high-quality meat. They are pure black, like Angus cattle, but are smaller and have horns. This is the first Wagyu calf born in New Zealand from a Wagyu cow. In 1991 a Wagyu calf had been born here as a result of an embryo transplant. This cow was imported soon after, and the calf was born in 1992.
